Hi my name is Holly and I was born in 1998. In 2001 I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at just the age of three years old.
My Mom’s world got spun upside down because she was a single mother and I am greatful for her looking after me all that time. But as I have grown up my own world has been spun upside down because every year as I have gotten older, more responsability was put upon me and it got to much for me to handle. Although I have had diabetes for 10 years and counting, it can still get a bit scary at times. As I have been on this Online Counselling site, I have read other peoples stories and realised I have got this medical condition which I can’t get rid of – but it is not going to stop me from living my life. I am like every other person out there that has got diabetes and I have learnt that I am not alone anymore and can take control of my diabetes since it has been taking control over me all of these years . I’m so happy now and I am in such a geat place in my life
