It has been shown that people who make connections with other people living with diabetes have far better management of their diabetes, wellbeing and quality of life.
At Diabetes Counselling Online we believe strongly that the connections between people are critical to their diabetes management. Our motto is “communicating and connecting”.
The diabetes online community (DOC) is growing at a rapid rate and you can find many great people out there with diabetes on blogs, twitter and Facebook.
There are now a number of ways you can make connections with each other here at Diabetes Counselling Online and on our Facebook page and groups.
We have a number of groups on Facebook as follows:
Men with Diabetes Facebook group
Pregnancy and Parenting with Diabetes Group
Parents of kids with diabetes – Parent Chat Group
Rural Diabetes – for people in the country
Diabetes and Food & Weight matters – all issue related to food, weight and healthy eating
If you make a connection online and decide to meet someone “in the flesh” please make sure you consider your personal safety; check the person is genuine as far as possible and ensure you meet in a public place to start with.
We do not recommend children under 15 years of age arrange to meet anyone they meet online without involvement of their parents.
