Helen
I remember that I had a high reading on a mates monitor so the wife made an appointment to see this new doctor at our medical centre as he was described as a diabetes specialist , they asked my wife a few general questions , how old? 39, was I aboriginal or of island decent? No, what I did for work? Long distance truck driver… Apparently that was enough for him to work me out, I arrived for the appointment walked in his room and he looked at me and started throwing weight loss paperwork on the floor behind the desk, I’m 5’11″ And 82 kilos , so next it was test my level , that came in at 25.7, right he says you are going to have to stop drinking, but I will die I said I need fluids he then told me I was a stupid man and he meant alcohol ,,, oh that’s good I don’t drink alcohol , so he scratches his head orders a pile of tests tells me to get them done and have a think about taking this serious and come back, pissed me off that bad that I did nothing about it for another 2 years
