    Hi there ” title=”Very Happy” /> ,

Just wondering if the term " newly diagnosed " is up to 6 months or less or up to a year?

    Hi anonymous,

Often people are told by their doctors that they have diabetes, only to put in place the thought process of denial. Not wanting to hear such news, they ‘shut down’ to the diagnosis.

The term ‘newly diagnosed’ therefore could actually apply to someone who has only just had the pathology results, or has actually had diabetes a while, and is now ready to accept the diagnosis and take some action to manage their health :)

Regardless of the time since diagnosis, self managing diabetes is hard work, and is accepted by different people in different ways.
