Hi everyone, I haven’t been on this site for many years as my T2 diabetes has been pretty well under control for a long time. However, recently I went to see my endo about the chronic diarrhoea I had been suffering and which had been getting steadily more debilitating. My GP thought the problem could be the large doses of Diabex I was on. To cut a long story short, cutting out the Diabex cured that problem but impacted on my bsl’s. the endo took me off the Protaphane insulin I had been on (in ever increasing doses) and put me on Byetta. My last HbA1c was 7.4 which is not as good as it was on insulin + Diabex + Diamicron, but on the plus side, I have lost 7kg in 3 months. Apart from occasional nausea and slightly higher bsl’s I have found Byetta to be very effective. Is there anyone out there who has been on Byetta for a longer period, who who knows more about this drug? There are mixed reports on the effects of the drug from the US, where it has been available for longer.
