Diabetes Counselling Online was very lucky to be supported via the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS) with seed funding during 2004 - 2009, administered by Diabetes Australia. This enabled us to become a national charity and to grow and develop our organisation.
As we are now an independent charity reliant on sponsors, donors and fundraising, it is our priority to secure corporate partners for major sponsorship so we can develop into the future.
In operation since late 2001, we are now valued by the diabetes community, have received national and international recognition and awards and continually strive to improve and develop our services. In 2009 we received more than 2.5 million hits, nearly 50,000 individual visitors and 80,000 visits to our website.
Major Sponsors
Novo Nordisk - Major Website Sponsor - Platinum
Novo Nordisk are our founding Platinum Sponsor which provides major support for our online counselling services and supports our "Type 1 Weight Matters" programme. They are also our GOLD sponsor for the Sweet Talk Gala dinner. We are very grateful to Novo Nordisk for their generous support of our counselling services across 2008-2010. Their focus on supporting the "person behind the disease" fits very much with our work in diabetes. See more here.

Animas Insulin Pumps (AMSL) - Major Website Sponsor - Bronze
Animas Insulin Pumps (AMSL) have supported our Sweet Talk Gala Dinner as a Bronze Sponsor in 2009 and 2010. They have come on board in April 2010 as a major website sponsor - Bronze and are supporting our Talking type 1 programme. Insulin pumps are a vital part of diabetes management in particular for people living with type 1 diabetes.

Sponsor opportunities
In 2010-2011 we are seeking additional corporate sponsors. We aim to develop partnerships with organisations who both support our values of enabling wellbeing and mental health for people with diabetes and the community at large; and who are unique and inspirational in their approach to their business.
We are leaders in the online counselling arena and in diabetes and mental health - and can offer wide exposure and benefits to our partner organisations. When we started there were only 2 other organisations providing these types of online services and we are in the front line of counselling using the Internet in Australia. This is an exciting opportunity for organisations to become involved in a vibrant and ground breaking service which is about to grow significantly.
