Our Board

Our Board of Management

In 2009 we expanded the Board of Management to include a variety of members. We have just welcomed Sharee to our Board in 2010. In 2010-2011 will be seeking an member from a complementary background, to assist in managing the organisation. In particular we would like a male on the Board!

If you think you may have something to offer the Board please email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to discuss the possibility. In particular we are interested in members with financial expertise, fundraising experience and corporate management skills. All members are voluntary and we would prefer them to have personal experience of diabetes.

Members currently are:

Helen EdwardsHelen Edwards

Helen is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and a qualified Diabetes Educator. As the Founder and Director of Diabetes Counselling Online, Helen is the President of the Board and also the current Treasurer. The Board voted at the AGM in 2009 to maintain Helen in the role of President to ensure consistency for the organisation. As a small organisation the day to day financial management is managed by Helen as Director and as such, she maintains the Treasurer position also. However, we are keen to take on a member with financial expertise during 2010-2011. Helen has lived with type 1 diabetes since 1979 and is mum to 3 boys.
