You get to try out the chocies in the chocie cupboard :)

Over did it again today. Walked as fast as I could around the circuit. Did it in record time of 25 mins.Normaly its about 28 mins. Had a rest for 30 mins then did another 30 mins with two others at a much slower pace. Started getting a hypo just towards the end.

One of my fellow workmates commented that I looked white on my return.

That's the second time in two weeks but I do carry sugar tablets with me now so there's no need to be concerned.

Doc visit tomorrow arvo. Hoped to have lost a bit more in weight. Will soon know.

Doc real happy with me EXCEPT last 3 times blood pressure has been approx 150.

Apparently with diabetes they like to see a lower than norm reading like 115 or 120.

So I've now joined the ranks in taking blood pressure tabs.

Finding it tough breaking into the 96 kg bracket. I'm right on the brink but have been for the last 4 weeks.

I'm going to get there though! :)

One step at a time.

go Red!!

Yes they like us diabetics to have BP 130 or less, so medication is needed over that - good thing is this has been shown to protect the kidneys as well, so is very important

and yes hypos can have positive sides!

one step at a time is my motto!

Hey Red.

Four weeks since my heart attack now. Did you want a bit of encouragement?

Didn’t hurt all that much really about 3 out of 10 in the ol pain scale,i am told sometimes for diabetics they don’t hurt at all. Statistics say i had a 75% chance of dying but once it had stopped and the stent was being put in place my chances raised to ninety nine in one hundred of walking out of the hospital.

Blood pressure is now 115/85. weight is 78kg, cholesterol last reading <3 put has to go <2, my fitnes level was tested yesterday and i am exactly average for a 54 y.o. So improvement need there too.

Its worth trying your best cause the alternative may be expensive.

Got myself ambulance cover now which i think is wise, driving down to the hospital while having a heart attack was not a good idea(cost me a parking fine)

Apparently I was sizing myself up for a heart attack way back in 2005 when my cholesterol was 8.8, LDL 5.7

It took a nose dive when they wacked me on Lipitor.

Blood pressure 115/85? You're kidding. That's absolutely fantastic.

With my frame, 78 kg is out of the question. I'm told the ultimate aim is for low 80's. (Quietly laughs).

Don't know the cost of ambulance cover. I know its about $500 a ride even though I am VERY close to a major hospital. This is an area that I think I dont have to worry about for quite a few years yet (I live in hope ).

cheers

I have been trying to get down to 78KG from 86KG for the last three years. I have come to accept that it is almost impossible when on Insulin, the body never gets to the fat burning stage with exercise due to hypoing out early in the process and having to feed the hypo. Does not stop me from trying tho.
